open-mindedness

If that is a word... lol either way you know what I'm talking about.
I feel that it is important for people to try new things- things out of their comfort zone- in order to really, truly get the most out of life.
That's why it is one of my biggest pet peeves to meet people who are resistant to change and trying new things.

I understand being hesitant, but don't knock new things and ideas immediately without giving it a chance.

I went to a spanish party- one of the many I've been to- but this one was a graduation party. Of course they had great food available, and lots of it. So my friends and I, along with everyone else, ate before we danced our butts off. One woman, who was helping serve, asked if we wanted to try a certain dish. We asked, "What is it?" (It looked like beef.) And she said, "I don't want to tell you. You may not want to eat it when you know what it is." We laughed, but all my friends passed on eating it. But not me. I said, "Sure, I'll try it." Come to find out later, when we were done eating, that it was COW TONGUE...
But you know what, it was pretty good. It just tasted like chewy beef. I didn't even notice the little hairs on the tongue until after she told me what it was. lol.

I say all that to say, trying new things will not kill you.
I have friends that refuse to listen to music other than rap or r&b. I have other friends who refuse to try new foods like sushi.

Just try new things my loves...
Listen to a new song or music group out of your comfort zone- and don't make fun of friends who listen to different things, or change their radio station or iPod song everytime you get in their car. Try a different food. Try a different dance. Drive a different way home or to work. Watch a different sport or hobby. Hang out with people you usually don't hang out with. Travel to a place you have never been before...

I'm telling you, you will regret years of boredom and lack of variety until you become open-minded. Don't let life pass you by without tasting it first.
